You people should read the Hardy Boys mystery series, though it is a bit old, with girls being worryiers and such, but good. Also, Percy Jackson, Spy School, and My Side of the Mountain.

I would like to recommend a book called The Westing Game. It's really good and it is like a mystery book.

The Inkheart series is great! It is about a girl who gets lost in a book, and there are tons of evil kings and bad guys in the book....

Yeah, all the books are REALLY long. It took me a little more than half a year to red the last one.

Chasing Vermeer IS a great book! From one to ten, I give it an 11. The fact that random coincidences can all come together that way is really cool. I recommend it too.

The secret series by Pseudonymous Bosch (what a pen name! an I thought Cholly Knickerbocker was intense). Anyway this book has a few upsides and downsides. I'll start with the down sides because personally I like knowing why I shouldn't read a book before I learn why I should. first of all P.B. (for short) is EXTREMELY indecisive! he spends an entire chapter deciding if he should write the story or not. which is a waste of time to read and very irritating. eventually he decides to write the story because there's a piece of 90 percent cacao chocolate on his shelf that he really wants to eat. I mean, come on P.B.! bribing yourself! that's just lame! If you wan't to still read this book but skip this infuriating chapter, it's called "I've changed my mind" So skip it. I beg you! now if your tired of listening to me rant about some random guys lack of decisiveness, I hear you. now let's get on with the upsides, shall we?

I haven't even started reading that series and it already sounded interesting to me. I have been keeping track of those books for years! I won't read that terrible chapter, though.

Nathan Hale's hasardous Tales is AWESOME!! I agree with you, Chloe and Wilder. Although I would stress the cool history more than the correction babies. Like, William Cushing (Big,Bad Ironclad) is pretty cool.

The Swiss Family Robinson is a great book. It's a book about a shipwreck so it has things like eating turtle egg omelets, but otherwise good. WARNING: it has very articulate language, so have a dictionary at hand.

I am planning to read that one day. Also, The Graveyard Book is a comic book about a boy who lives in a graveyard, and he is raised by ghosts.

The Percy Jackson series is about a boy named Percy Jackson who discovers that his dad is Poseidon. The resulting adventures are both humorous AND action-packed. The Heroes of Olympus and The Trials of Apolloare offshoots that are similarly good.
